Yeah, I like Iyer-KL at 4-5.

NZ need some Neesh
we're busy pretending he doesn't exist. in the words of mike hesson 'high iq, low eq'. as long as nz are winning spirit of cricket awards while having squad members who should probably be in jail that's the main thing.

I was upset CSK didn't get him in the auction. Must have done something horrific to be banished like this. Can he come into the side later this series?

When was the last time we won a match lol?

Really should stamp the papers of some players.

Bennett, Ish and Santner were trash tonight. Santner is usually solid in LOIs, tonight he couldn't string together 2 good balls.

Tickner may have gone for runs but he looked pretty decent.

What did I miss regarding NZ cricket politics?

4 is probably too high for CdG and I wouldn't trust him to build an innings, maybe Taylor at 4, Neesh and 5 and CdG at 6?

Do think two spinners is the way to go for the WC though and Ish could be useful in Aus with the bigger boundaries.

Bennett and Sodhi were the only two to not go at 10+ per over. Santner was awful. Tickner was unlucky not to have two. Southee has managed to get away here despite being the senior bowler and death specialist these days.

don't really rate cdg in l/o these days, would rather we replace him with Neesh. Philips for Munro too

This is all Englands fault that New Zealand are a shattered cricket team cause they refused to share the world cup trophy when it was a draw.

He bowls good balls but now and then he just seems to lose his action, does Sodhi. Don't know if it is a mental issue.

Yeah I'm someone who doesn't want Munro in the team either, I don't trust him to do well when we need him to score or against good teams.

I just know we'd be making a mistake taking him to another WC.

They bowled absolute piss mate. Tickner bowled better than both of them but his numbers didn't reflect it. It is just one game from Bennett, however disappointing it was he should get a couple more games to show what he has to offer (outside Eden Park too). Just wasn't impressed with his drop in pace or his lines and lengths, I thought he was very fortunate not to go for a lot more. Last time I saw him playing he was bowling in the 140s tonight I don't think he got anything over 140.

Can't fault our batting we did good. Maybe we could have scored 10 or 15 more but likely India would have got that too. Our fielding and catching was a bit of worry. Some of the bowling tactics were not up to mark. Not quite sure about playing two spinners in a short ground. Bennett was all right considering the size of the ground and the total India were chasing. Hopefully they will continue to give Bennett good chances. He was definitely not out of place despite having not played at this level for years. As long as the games are close enough it is all right. Indian looking in good touch, they have played lot of white ball cricket recently and it shows. They never played a shot out of panic, most were properly executed shots and to the merit of the ball.

international t20 annoys me because im not very into it so i don't get a high when we win, but when we're losing my competitive nature surfaces and i get mad we're losing a game i wouldn't get enjoyment out of winning anyway.

Couldn't care less either way ... was surprised people were so fired up in there last night.
The crowd attendance wasn't massive last night. Lots of empty seats. Looked like 90% of the crowd was passionate Indian crowd. Shows likely what effect the Aussie series has had. Probably NZC priced out the attendance too, looks like a ticket is priced at $60. It'll be a shame if crowd don't turn up, this is a good series with two very good sides particularly in white ball cricket. I can imagine the crowd at Sky stadium already in Wellington, it'll be sparse and likely made up of Indian crowd mostly.
