Elitely talented and superior Australia who would beat us 9/10 times look like they're headed for the plate to dominate the likes of Japan and Nigeria. Very upsetting.

Imagine needing 40 runs off 3 overs with 2 wickets left, and smash a 22-run over just because Beamer provoked you

11 runs needed from the final over. The opening bowler who just got smashed (Cullen) has been taken off for it. He must feel rotten.

Scores level on the final ball. Blimey.

And a single to win. England out of the tournament. That'll ****en hurt.

how tf did aus win there
I' m not sure but I'm disappointed (no offence to all decent Aussies meant).

I wanted Sphnyx's arrogance to be punished but alas it wasn't to be. They'll probably go on and win it now. That would be a very Aussie thing to do.

australia seems to be producing more sour blokes than you'd expect these days
Indeed. It's ok, I'll wait patiently from the comfort of the quarter finals whilst this elite Aussie side tries to avoid the plate competition.

Jesus, relax, it's not arrogance, I was making an observation. I actually said well done to the WI and it's cricket sometimes.

1. Every top 5 player was dismissed by a bad or ordinary ball on the match the other day, it wasn't good bowling. Sorry, but that was the reality. 2 freak runouts get rid of your #3 & #4 within 2 overs in a 50 over match. You are going to struggle.
2. Even the commentators pre-game were stating that the Australian side looked a lot better on paper, 3 or 4 FC players vs 1, and the multiple Big Bash contracts etc. This means **** all in reality, but there's big wraps on a number of these Australians, especially the batsman.
3. The commentators considered it an upset...
4. Even after the so called "dominance" you are trying to portray here, the WI won by 3 wickets with around 18 balls to spare despite how unlucky Aus were in their batting order. Not outrageous to say that I think individually they are probably a better side.

I actually sincerely hope they go well and win the tournament and prove me wrong.

This whole Aus v WI debate is pretty dire. The way I see it both are good teams, this Australian side certainly has plenty of promising young batsman, but the West Indies look to have a better and generally quicker bowlers. To say either team is clearly better is tenuous at best. Both definitely deserved to go through ahead of England though, who have decent if patchy batting and an absolute popgun bowling attack.

WI always tend to produce good pacers at the U19 level really, last tournament's team wasn't too flash but before that they have generally always had at least one bloke who can bowl 140+ in their arsenal

Wow, sounds like an awesome game. Consecutive World Cups where England have let slip a very good position to lose against Australia.

Fair enough. I thought it came across as arrogance tbh. As previously said, we had two batsman sawn off and your top scorer out plumb lbw so I don't see it quite as black and white as you do.

Either way, there are some excellent players on display across this tournament and no matter what happens I'm excited as a cricket fan.

I wonder if they are using senior international matches as the data for U-19 DL calculations, U-19 guys aren't quite built the same way physically and can't accelerate the same way a senior team can.

NZ played too many shots in the end. Got it down to just over 7s after a great start but still tried to hit it out of the park every ball. Liked the look of Mariu and BWG. Also the leggie from India.

Didn't see India bat but the lack of any wickets put the DLS target a bit out of our reach.

Big ask against WI but looking forward to it.

I thought our lads played really well last night. Bowling was tight, batting the first 10-15 overs was really good. Took on the Indian spinners and smashed them for a short period. Lost the momentum after couple of top order wickets fell. If it was a senior team given the start they would have seen it through. Starting to feel this NZ side has some steel. They are playing good brand of cricket at the moment. Mairu and Lellman took on the Indian bowlers big time early on.

the only brand of cricket worth playing is ruthless cricket and someone needs to start writing this on nz team meeting whiteboards instead of all this aggression rights stuff.

Just poking in to voice support for potentially the best player Liverpool has ever produced who might play tomorrow and who plays for one of the most likeable teams in the local area.
