Tony, I wouldnt arrest Salt yet. He has been below par but he scores quickly and fields well enough.

Phil Salt is a bit of a mystery. He's played nearly 60 T20 games for only 9 fifties with a best of 78*

I wonder what he's really done to even get noticed by the Strikers. Having said that he looks like he's not far away from clicking and scoring huge. Something about his style I actually like despite the failures

Salt is coached by Gillespie over in the UK. Gillespie of course is the Strikers coach.

A 50 every 6 or so matches sounds about right tbh. Obviously very good batsman have a better rate, but I dont think thats a huge problem area.

For an opener id expect more though. Gayle passes fifty once every 3.5 games

I know Gayle's really good at t20s but he's still a reckless tonker like Salt
