Well they are getting in pretty dire need of a new Andrew de Boorder to come along and provide a bit of a counterweight in the dominant influences in that Auckland squad. One feels for any young red ball batting talent in Auckland who want to take the craft in a slower and well-wrought direction. This is not my theory.

Labu shouldn’t be captain. He’s a bit of a goofy character like Root was. Not a leader.

I don’t even think he has experience captaining at state level.
