I am not saying it will be easy for NZ, its just the tendancy to not bat to the best of our ability which annoys me in this situation. Plus the fact that we do this to give our bowlers a rest and its our bowlers who are batting, and potentially for a while typically just before we are all out/declare.
This might make sense if we were only 350 ahead, not 450. Every chance Head, Wade and Paine can add on another 75-100.

geez if you consider being handed a few wickets from slogging batsmen that are declaring soon because they're 450 in front a "session win" then NZ cricket is in dire straits indeed
We obviously are in dire straits in this game ... these sort of things can give a side a good boost. Seems like a very easy to understand point to me?

nah you're definitely right, I'm just being a ****

Even if Aus wanted to bat again, which is fair, I would have preferred to see a more measured approach rather than gifting wickets

I am not even talking about the objection of winning this Test match.

I dont care that we are batting now. What I care about is the way we are batting.

Wagner getting his 200th by bouncing out Steve Myth for the umpteenth time was nearly as sweet as tjb’s tears of unfathomqble sadness.

ok fair but don't call it "bouncing out" ffs it's putting the ball on a tee and waiting for him to hit it to a fielder

Is that Andrew McDonald in the aussie sheds? Always struck me as a decent sort of bloke

It must be difficult for Australia’s batsmen here. They’d have been expecting some sort of contest this series, and it must be mentally tough to apply yourself when you know the other mob could bat four times and not pass you.

NZ got to the same score 10 down while apparently trying to bat properly, reckon Oz is gonna be fine, there've been plenty of these formality second innings where the teams have crashed hard and won the match with 250 runs anyway, don't think anyone in the Aussie camp cares.

If NZ don't miraculously bat two days to draw it then I hope they go down quickly in a flaming wreck tomorrow ... heading along to the MCG to watch this every day is draining my will to live. Pretty much the most epically poor holiday of my life so far.

First day of the match that I actually have been able to watch. In spite of my NZ fandom it was awesome watching the aussie pacers hunting in a pack.
