because we have to many franchise teams, we need 6 instead of 8, and there are far to many people getting a game because of it.( to many average players mean to many average games)
there are probably 10 to 15 players who are playing the bash that shouldn't be, not their fault, but they have to fill the rosters with mediocre players.
and don't get me started with very average imports like salt, gleeson etc who shouldn't be here. ( am i a little hard on this)
obviously it doesn't help that the aussie test players are all unavailable, unless they are dropped from the test team.

I get what you are saying, but from a sports pespective having only 54 Aussies playing would be too few (6 teams by 9 players due to 2 imports).
As a public we expect excellence and while he clearly hit the ball to the fielder on the boundary too regularly, a 16 ball 17 doesnt mean he shouldnt be participating in his domestic comp.
I agree that overseas players like Gleeson and Salt dont add to the comp, thats more of a problem then seeing a lower ranked Aussie not doing so well.

Definitely. Your imports should be your best players, or just about. It's bizarre having overseas players that are barely good enough to be in the side, and some who arguably shouldn't be.

Just to show why I wouldnt reduce the teams, the following XI are either without a contract or cant make their sides XI (yet)
