Santner was actually bowling well. Just the one dropped short was a bad ball. I'd keep him on, reckon the Aussies are looking to force him out of the attack because he's a danger to these 2 right handers

Really needed that run out earlier - wonder if Williamson could have thrown for Southee to collect.

Think we've bowled decently (apart from santner) but that run out was the chance we needed.

Yeah one crook over and spelled says a bit about where KW sees things are heading generally, rather than pointing to him having bowled trash. That sort of slow turn on a deck like this can be effective if you back the bloke in.

Just me getting bored by Labuschagne now? One Smith was enough.
Makes such a difference having a good number three. Those two will go a long way to carrying Australia back to its rightful place of dominating test cricket, particularly with the fast bowling depth they have

kane just doesnt rate spinners outside asia tbh which is why santa is playing to begin with - he can bat

spams cdg as his holding bowler outside asia

aus are rediscovering that crucial quality of all good teams - the ability to play and miss and edge into gaps instead of getting out for 60

Tell you what, he's a bloody tinny batsman, Labuschagne. Has made mistakes this innings but just hasn't cost him his wicket.

The threat is ever present, that's why Smith and Labuschagne had to be aggressive. Like Sehwag hitting the ball out of the ground because it was swinging too much. Take risks to eliminate the greater risk.

The cricketing IQ is immense.

Blundell 0, Latham 41, Williamson 63*, Taylor 33* was just a owl instead of at from potentially happening.

You guys are reading this completely wrong.

Labu's was just a bad ball and had to be deposited. Smith on the other hand is just in general not feeling good about Labu becoming the new fan favourite. He had to hit that six to reassert his dominance.

It's really a fascinating dance between the two spaghetti limbed freaks. Reminds me of that Planet Earth bit where the Red-capped manakins are trying to best each other to secure a mate.
