Between the ICC pitch warning and the abandoned shield match, there is enough to cause uncertainty as to how the pitch will play.

I'm still thinking ~80% likely to be slow and flat though.

Whatever it takes!!!
It could well behave like some of the NZ wickets have done where it starts green and helpful to seamers but very quickly settles down as the green goes out and becomes a road for the last 3 days.

Confirmed that Santner will play by the sounds of it. So it’s Boult and Blundell in for Ferguson and Raval.

Wade said in an interview that he’s potentially going to play a few shots if Wagner throws in some short bowling because he “likes to pull as much as anyone else”.

Watching old highlights pre-drs really puts paid to 'batting used to be way harder'. Forget that lbw shout, it's pretty much impossible to be given out caught or lbw in the old days.

Cricket is so much better now with drs, even if it screws nz today now ive tempted fate

Anyone else fizzing? Can only imagine how NZ fans in Melbourne or on their way are feeling...
Tbf it’s their first time in an actual city. Shame for them it has to be Melbourne, but baby steps and all that.
