The Records and Milestones thread

Just read that Steve Smith is the only player in history (min 20 tests) to never go more than 2 Tests without a 50.

Note: Bradman went 3 tests without a 50 in 1934 but then followed up with 304 and 244 in next two innings
Quite impressive that he managed to lose that record (with min 30 Tests) in his next 3 matches... Geoff Pullar (28) regains his record.

Shai Hope's record as an ODI opener is unreal. He has 1269 runs @ 115 with a strikerate of 83. It has not been talked about much, but those are insane numbers.

Shai Hope is the quickest West Indian to 3000 ODI runs. He beat Viv by 2 innings. Well played Shai

Virat Kohli has scored the most international runs in a calendar year for 4 successive years now. He has scored 2595, 2818, 2735 and 2455 runs in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 respectively.

That is a freaking 10603 runs over just 4 calendar years.

One heck of a peak. All the more impressive given he does not get to play any international cricket in April and May every year.

Not trying to knock Kohli’s amazing record, but the missing months aren’t making much difference - he’s played more international matches than anyone else in that time.

Yeah I don't really care about that part, just incredible run-scoring.

It's a bit like when Border broke the 10k runs mark- it's an impressive achievement even if it basically means he's just played a lot of cricket and done well during that time.
