Whatever it takes!!!
why did no-one call out this insanely bad post
It’s just standard fare for HB. Best left alone
Has a brain fade every five tests...
“It always happens with Smith.”

Lol @ Burgey randomly taking offience to a very basic and factual post. And others'. I just meant it has happened often with Steve Smith where he gives you that one chance (unless its Pune and he gives you 6) and you drop it, he makes you pay. Forget getting out, he does not even look like getting out. Its like that one mistake gets him to be switched on even more.

But sure, go ahead find a negative in a positive comment. Standard fare for Burgey and some other one eyed Aussie posters here, obviously.

And lest I forget, Marnus..

And Southee was pretty good too. For NZ's sake, hope he has a good day tomorrow and runs through the Aussie line up. Else, NZ are cooked and can only hope for a batathon draw at best.

Disappointing to see we could only grab one more under lights. With Lockie out, our only realistic chance is to bat long and then have Southee and Wagner roll Australia under lights. For that to happen NZ has to finish this innings within the next 30 overs which is a huge ask. If NZ don’t get Marnus in the first hour tomorrow, Australia will win.

Jeez it’s ridiculous Wagner was left out of 4 of the 5 tests against Australia in 2015. That first hour of play was almost a replay of the first hour at the Gabba in 2015 until Wagner and the big dG came on to restore some respectability.

Should've picked Ferguson against England. No wonder he's injured, being so underdone. Big mistake that's now proving bloody costly.

Send Lockie into open the batting v the new ball, ask him to use his head, for the team.

I'm not sure how people are saying this is match is even atm....

Australia still has 2 x recognized bats (in addition to the leading runs scorer in test cricket this year) + Paine and the tail in the shed with 240 on the board and another 40 degree day coming.

With NZ also looking a bowler down.

If Australia manage to bat another 40 overs, NZ will be facing Starc, Cummins and Hazlewood in twilight on a pitch that is going to get significantly quicker and bouncier as was shown last year. Ball was swinging all night which is ominous for Starc.

Australia right in the drivers seat here.

If Marnus is still in at the lunch break, I'd almost declare Australia can't lose the match.

I didnt mention this, but substitution for injuries? granted the player substituted cannot come back in ala baseball.
Yeah I agree with this. If we're allowing player substitutions for concussion on a 'like for like' basis, I don't see why it can't work for other injuries. I guess the temptation would be for a player who's having a bad game to fake an injury and be replaced. But if an independent doctor is able to confirm that an injury is legitimate, then I see no reason why a substitution shouldn't be allowed.

Who confirms the concussion is legitimate currently?

Agreed. This would allow teams to compete evenly without being disadvantaged due to means beyond their control. Aus benefited from Marnus at Lords. Don't see why NZ should be punished here. Hope the ICC implements that.

That’s complete garbage. The concussion substitute is in place to prevent life threatening injuries. It’s not there to allow teams to select undercooked players who may or may not be fit enough. That’s not even discussing how easily exploitable it would be

Probably one of the worst ideas I’ve seen discussed on here tbh

Yeah agree with all of that, silly idea.

In saying that is there anything stopping NZ from sending Ferguson out as an opener, have him headbutt the ball, and then replace him with another bowler?
