*Official* England in New Zealand 2019

Eh, Henry isn’t a good enough test bowler, he is what he is at this point. Only Stead and co would choose the 135k straight up and down bowler over a 150k swing bowler

This is fake news, Henry swings it more than Ferguson ever will. I dont necessarily agree with the selection but you're making stuff up

Tbf, I don't think one game on a classic NZ seamy road is going to be great preparation for a trip to Aus
If Henry takes 6-8 wickets in this match it would be hard to pick Ferguson over him regardless of his unsuitability for Aus conditions. You can paint yourself in a corner with conservative selections. Plus I think debuting Ferguson in Aus increases the chance of something going badly wrong. Can't help but think back to the torrid time he had in the ODIs here.

This one of the most interesting England teams I've ever seen. Does Pope even keep these days? Plenty of tailend batting as usual. At least they don't have five right armers.

Haha this England team is hilarious
It looks like one of those teams that play the last series of a horrible away ashes but it comes just a game after we played our most normal looking side for ages. Leah missing out came out of nowhere?

Oh well could be fun.

It wouldn't be that bad if he was unproven internationally just hyped coz of his speed

But he was clearly one of the top 5 bowlers of the world cup and it feels like he's barely bowled for his country since

Yes, there's the risk that way round, that Ferguson sits on the sidelines in Australia because Henry took wickets here.

And there's the missed opportunity the other way round too, that Ferguson taking a bagful here would pose good and difficult questions to the selectors as to whether he should be in the first 3 seamers for the Oz series, even if Boult is fit.

Raval would also be one guy happy to see England have left out Leach. I would have selected him.

This is bound to be yet another NZ green-looking road, so England extremely reliant on early wickets here.
