I get the Santner disapproval - hell, I was part of it. As a bowler, he's not got anything more than Ajaz or Somerville bring to the table. As a batsman, he's got obvious inefficiencies.
But the guy just performs. He's one of those cricketers who scores runs and takes wickets, no matter how much you think he doesn't bring enough to the table. And now that I think about it, he's exactly the sort of guy you want in your side. Our side is absolutely full of resolve, it's a unit, it's a team that is never beaten.
Contrast that with England, with whom it's funny to say it about a world champion side (yes that's their ODI outfit but it's the same organisation) but they just don't seem particularly up for a fight. As Burgey quite rightly said, Archer is never going to die of a heart attack. Broad fancies it when he gets an early sniff, but after that not so much. Stokes aside, who's going to dig in today? Leach was such a key wicket last night because he's probably one of only a couple who will dig in, the rest of them you'd figure would want to post a personal score as much as save a Test.
