Looks like trundler's revenge fantasy for McGrath's 8/24 (and 59 a.o., 53 a.o. etc. etc.) may come true LOL.

Well I suppose we can stop writing Pakistan off now and trash talking the test summer. M I Khan bowled himself into a test spot you’d think.

I mean it could just be that Pakistan had their good day in the tour match and Smith makes things harder, but Pakistan can take a lot from this yes. It's certainly an ugly sign that basically everyone choked a Test spot up (except for maybe Bancroft, who should be nowhere near it).

I reckon the selectors are justified to have a bat off. No one's shown any sort of consistency or not choke when given an opportunity. The candidates available have driven the selectors to this situation. Amongst all the frustration I think the best candidates atm to partner Warner and Usman are Burns while no.6 its either Travis or Pucovski. Slightly favouring Burns and Pucovski.

Thank goodness Bancroft didn't get a 50. He has a terrible knack of making big scores when a test spot is on the line and then going missing when he gets picked.

Burns and Harris both copped good balls, but balls that they've both shown weakness to in the past.

I'm not convinced Khawaja hit the ball he got out to but it was a very good ball regardless. He's the classic out of form batsman - nothing is going right for him this season.

Head misqueued a half tracker to backward point. It was a truly terrible shot.

Pucovski got one that leapt off a length. Not much he could have done with that.

Carey got hurried and chopped on.

Neser hung his bat out like a rabbit.

Overall it was a very good bowling performance by Pakistan, Head's wicket excluded. Imran Khan bowled like, well, Imran Khan.

Wow, just realised Pak destroyed Aus-A with a bowler down due to Naseem Shah being withdrawn without a replacement (sadly due to the death of his mother).

What would they have done if they had a full attack!

There is a very high chance of this. We've seen this before. Pak doing well in the tour matches, then falling over as soon as the real thing arrives.

Pucovski didn't deal with a bouncing ball? There's a shock

I don't think the series will be as one-sided as I feared after the T20s. Wasn't a huge surprise to see Azam and Shafiq making runs because they clearly are capable of doing it in these conditions, but skittling out a pretty good batting lineup (with a bowler short) definitely was. I didn't expect Imran Khan Jr. to do this well.
