Game at the Mount looks evenly balanced after Popli and BJ have seen off Rance's 2nd new ball spell. Good opportunity for pre-test series warmup for BJ and Ajaz Patel this afternoon, a flat 4th day pitch, either could win the game for their team. Bharat Popli currently 85*, highest FC score since 3 centuries in break-out 2015-16 season.

Spoke too soon. Another game with key wickets falling to part-time spin.

Is it worrisome that lot of part time spinners are taking plenty of wickets? Does that mean we will not have a future team that is gun against spin bowling as the current Black Caps are? Even Malcolm Nofal barely used to bowl in Wellington club cricket and was at best considered part time but is at the top of the table. This also early in the season.

Tbf, Nicholls is one of the stars of the current test line-up, generally plays spin well, yet was dismissed twice by Michael Bracewell. So I wouldn't read too much into it.

Looks like NZC have rolled out a new scorecard for following matches. Has more details such as ball by ball, but frustratingly the score or the teams playing aren't in the tab header which makes following harder at work!

Yep, hoping that they get the camera set up for the CD Canterbury game. Colson perfecting the 'believe in the leave' giving Lockie an early wicket. He really swings the red ball, hope to see him given a shot for the test team soon.

That's a pearler of an inswinger from Lockie to pick up his first FC wicket of the season. Meanwhile, the mighty Matt McEwan makes minemeat of Ravindra's sparkling talent.

Hahaha I didn't even notice that first slip. Is anyone creating a blooper reel?

Need to find a way to share that video

Who would win:
Lockie Ferguson - NZ's fastest domestic bowler and soon to be test cricket great white hope.
Devon Conway - NZ's top domestic run scorer with 3x the runs of the next best so far this season, and soon to be test cricket great white hope.

Answer - Sean Solia's part-time medium pace

Freakishly lucky for Otago to run Flynn out like that. This round delivering the amusing highlights goods so far.

No shame in getting out to one of the greats.

Also, that ball from Jamieson to get Blundell is exactly the type of delivery that has had people excited about Jamieson. Admittedly, it looks great but relies on that new ball zip that soon disappears.

Unlucky Firebirds... lost the toss. Auckland giving back what they received two years ago, the mighty Pappsy's 300+ game.

Looks like the ball is jagging all over the place. Need some luck on the first morning to survive. Hoping for some runs for Raval this game.
