*Official* South Africa in India, Sep/Oct 2019

Basically, yea.

This is not just India dominating South Africa anymore, they've treated them with absolute disdain here. Piedt in particular - I forgot which of the commentators said it, but he basically said the Indian batsman are not even considering him a bowler anymore and do not respect him.
This Indian team honestly has a strong whiff of the mid-00s Aus team about it. Very, very similar approach to the game.

Looks like we are only gonna have two sessions each day. SA could draw if they dig in but they will probably lose narrowly (in terms of time)

Was it the final test last time they were over when they managed to get through 140 overs or something at 1RPO? I know they didn't get super-close to saving it and this time they're without Amla and AB, but I guess at least it shows they might still have some fight left even at the end of pretty torrid tour

Yeah, AB + Amla + Faf, managed to take it to the last session, was the most gloriously boring cricket I ever watched .

Haha, going off topic here but it reminded me of when Australia toured Sri Lanka and broke the record for most consecutive dot balls faced, I remember being glued to cricinfo and praying to see 'no run' everytime the commentary updated

This was an interesting stat someone showed on cricinfo, if India win this test we will have 240 points in the test championship, rest of the teams all combined have 232.

Rohit averaging more than Root now lol.

Each series is worth 120 and I think India are the only team to have played more than one - and some teams haven’t played any. So it’s not QUITE as impressive as it sounds. Though it would be a fantastic start if they swept both of their series.

Two match series against Bangladesh coming up, that will boil some more people's piss if they get full points from it as expected. :)

On a separate note, is Root the most overrated batsman of all time? Clearly the guy is pretty good, and not 'average' or mediocre or anything, but he's just not *THAT* good.
