they do need to plan to bowl up to and including 50 overs
Bit of a stretch to say that Nair will "bowl"

I was working under the assumption that he was in as a specialist batsman, for obvious reasons. Should be interesting to see when he does "bowl" though

Have to say that was a pretty impressive innings from Bertus on debut. NSW were looking in dire straights when he came in. Another wicket or two and Queensland were looking at a 250 chase on a road.

This is a thread bare NSW attack isn’t it? Only Sabba has any decent experience and record at even this level.

I bet this Queensland side is glad they're facing the might of Mickey Edwards instead of Cummins, Hazlewood and Starc.

Haha yeah and the bowling figures show it. When I tuned in four bowlers had already had a crack, Sabba had 0/16 off 4, and the other three were all going at >10rpo.

I get that they’re young and have talent but I don’t get NSW fascination with Edwards brothers

Would be fringe players at best for most of my time watching Blues

A bloke I know who works in the industry (he got to run the Sydney Thunder twitter page one year) reckons they were heaps marketable for the BBL fanbase. Two young long haired surfer blonde dudes. Reckons it was definitely a factor in them getting a generous amount of opportunity

Steady on. Reminds me of that other fool who was saying hed claim 100 Test wickets.

Edit - it was you :p
Haha. My rationale was that if he has a halfway decent career with the bat hel get to be played as a second spinner in all the asia tours plus SCG tests, as he's useful enough in the right conditions it seems, and therefore scrape to 100 wickets by default

After a poor start Edwards has actually came back fairly well

I genuinely don't mind him tbh

(Hides in my cupboard)
I think Jack has a future. I definitely wish they'd made him earn it with grade runs first though. Not even consistent grade runs necessarily -- just like... any. Ideally he'd have played the whole first grade season with no games for NSW and averaged 40+ last season to give him something going into this one. Instead he had the two tons but is still seen as a bit of a joke because he failed so horribly outside of them.

Mickey - meh. Stay in your cupboard IMO.

Haha. I was only stirring with the 100 test wickets line. It is possible if say he gets to 70 tests or so. The ATG line was more outrageous.

McAndrew seems a glass-you-in-the-face type after a bad night at Kings Cross.

I like it.
