He's gonna be an Ian Harvey type. Moments of brilliance, could see hat tricks with the ball or taking 25 runs off an over with the bat
But can't see him getting test 150s or 7fers
He's bits and pieces but very good at it
Yeah but ……
He seems to have the handy knack of performing better in test matches than domestic games. His spell today was way better than anything he's sent down for Surrey this year. Ditto his key spell in the first innings at Edgbaston last year. And his vital innings against India were also far better than anything he's done with the bat for Surrey. He also seems to have the handy knack of making vital contributions at key times in test matches. Even against Ireland he made the vital break-throughs late on Day 1 when they looked like securing a match winning lead. It helps that he's gained a bit of pace, if the commentator who said one of his lbws clocked 88mph was right. All of the criticisms about him not being a genuine 3rd seamer and not being a genuine top 6 batsman and struggling when the ball doesn't swing are absolutely true, but he keeps doing good things in test matches at time when they are needed.
