4th Test at Old Trafford, Manchester

Can’t see us winning a match down under whilst Smith is around, let alone a series. They’re a chance of being beaten away from home whilst Smith is the lone ranger though.
Bloke has taken 24 wickets in 4 tests so far. Still has a shot at anther 26. That has to go down as one of the best performances of all time that's been largely unrecognised by the media.

Cummins? I wouldn’t say it’s gone unrecognised at all. Maybe slightly in the shadows of Smith’s performance, understandably so.

He's had less column inches dedicated to him than Archer, Warner, Anderson or Jason Roy. Just slips under the radar with his excellence.

24 wkts is good but hardly one of the best of the Ashes, never mind best of all time.

Ashes Series: Alderman 42, Hogg 41, Alderman 41, Lillee 39, Johnson 37, McGrath 36, Thomson 33

So Cummins has quite a few wkts to go yet before being an ATG series

That was meant to go with the next statement "That has been largely unrecognised by the media".

Of course we saw Mitchell Johnson a few years ago have his 40 wicket ashes but the media celebrated that like it was 1999.

Probably the bowler who had the most similarly unrecognised gun ages was Simon Jones in 2005 who took 20 odd in 4 tests and was instrumental in the English series win.

stuart clark in 06-07 would be a better comparison imo

Grimmett in '30 would have to be #1 on such a list imo

Missus is making a roast dinner shortly, if we do hold on and it goes to the wire I wonder how she will react to me telling her I will eat it in the living room

Denly has displayed a degree of testicular fortitude not commonly seen in a pommy bastard. Played. He's grown on me like Burns.

So I guess England have now found their opening batsmen for awhile.

Good thing Root has 3 ducks in the series and Aus let Roy score 31 so that he plays as a weakness in next test ;)

Warne saying that Denly's 50 was warmly received "by this knowledgable crowd." One of the stupider commentary clichés. FFS, there are massive scoreboards telling the crowd what score he's on.
