You've got to look at Labs unconverted 50s in more context

His last 3 were all top scoring efforts for his team is those innings

Also, the 974 is back on

????? That's about 18 overs where he might face 50 balls for 25 runs, so another 40 score?

I think Aus need 400 to lock in the Ashes (will then not lose) so really need Wade and Paine to step up.
Not if england bowl how they did last night. They gave so much away. It was a terrible performance. Even though the match is rain affected, the looseness of their bowling has let Australia advance the game a fair bit - going at nearly 4s in those conditions is manna from heaven. They're 170 already after only 45 or so overs. The game raced along yesterday.

Labu’s runs once again prove how clueless most of the Australian posters here are when it comes to selections. Have no reason to trust anything you guys say about little known players anymore.

No FC runs - Why’s he been picked
FC runs - ugh now he’s going to force himself into the team something something Langer sucks

Remember when yall hated on the Chris Rogers selection. Would probably be the best opener in the world if he was playing right now.

Tbh I always thought Marnus looked a decent player, better than his returns for Queensland suggested. He wasn't impressive domestically last summer, but when you have a closer look the same goes for the entire Queensland batting lineup. Only one Shield century all season across the whole team.

Gabba deck was fairly spicy last season too, how else can an absolute slow-medium plodder like Feldman take so many wickets

He scored 38 at 1st drop against India. He looked tidy doing so. And showed courage. Really the only thing wrong was that he wasn't scoring runs ... Anyway there's hope that with his attitude and technique allied to experience he could get better and retain his place in the test team.

It's funny, we were all bitching about the selectors picking him because he seemed like a nice guy and fit in well, and they saw something in him, rather than picking based on weight of runs. Looks like he is evidence that picking on gut instinct sometimes trumps Shield runs.

The difference is that Marnus had been a fixture in the Queensland side for almost three seasons before he got his Test debut

2015/16: 446 runs at 34.3
2016/17: 626 runs at 36.8
2017/18: 795 runs at 41.8

So while that doesn't stand out, it's not like he was stinking up the place

I don't see how that relates to anything I said, but it's still a good point

I probably wasn't too clear, but I was just trying to explain why the Labuschagne and Pucovski situations really aren't that similar in the first bit of my post

The numbers are just because I was curious and wanted to look it up

What the...apparantly 2 Aussie fans were evicted from Old Trafford.

"It’s alleged the duo shouted “show us your passport” and repeatedly chanted “Barbados” towards Archer."

Above is being labeled as foul mouth abuse and reported to police. Sounds pretty tame after all the abuse Smith and Warner have been getting.

Pretty tasteless from them tbh. Not sure whether it warrants eviction from the ground, but the Poms love selective outrage. They were probably up to a fair bit more than just saying that.
