The best bowler in history with more wickets than runs is Chris Martin as of now with 233 wickets and 123 runs. No other bowler with more than 200 wickets has higher wickets than runs. Bumrah can potentially beat him.
BS Chandrasekhar also belongs to that club. 242 wickets and 167 runs. Though Bumrah's is incredible in the sense that he has 3 times more wickets than runs.

I hope he increases that highest score gradually as his batting improves. Should be a good candidate for NUFAN's "Who got a new highest score the most times?" thread.

One thing I noticed about Chandrasekhar and Martin is they both have much worse records when out bowled.

Chandrasekhar's overall Test batting average was 4.07. He was out bowled 23 times. In these 23 innings, he made 24 runs at an average of 1.04 with 14 ducks (61% of all bowled dismissals) and a highest score of 6.

Martin's overall Test batting average was 2.36. He was out bowled 27 times. In these 27 innings, he made 17 runs at an average of 0.62 with 20 ducks (74% of all bowled dismissals) and a highest score of 7.

It is as if these guys literally couldn't see the ball when they first came to the wicket and all you needed to do was bowl straight.

Not particularly surprising though is it? You'd expect most players to have lower averages in innings where they are out bowled, as you're probably more likely to get out bowled early in your innings than when established.

I noticed 60% outswing bowling by Bumrah during his Record breaking 5 fer ~~8/3/7/5>>he become only 11th player who took 5 fer giving away less than 10 runs

Yes, you might expect players to have lower averages when bowled for the reasons you articulated, but the surprising thing in the case of these two rabbits is the extent of the decline. The overall average across all Test cricket is 30.25, but when out bowled it drops to 23.33, a decline of 23%. By comparison, the averages of both Chandresekhar and Martin drop by about 75% when out bowled, over three times the typical shortfall.

Also, in practice, many established Test batsmen actually had higher averages when out bowled than across their career as a whole. For instance:

Walter Hammond average when bowled 62.28 overall average 58.45
Graeme Smith 60.29/48.25
Brian Lara 57.00/52.88
Zaheer Abbas 56.71/44.79
Michael Clarke 54.56/49.10
Tom Graveney 53.61/44.38
Graham Gooch 50.33/42.58
Andrew Strauss 47.44/40.91
Saurav Ganguly 46.53/42.17
Tillakaratne Dilshan 46.33/40.98

etc

can't help but love him which is a shame because im becoming increasingly concerned kohli and his snivelling sycophants are going to piggyback ride bumrah to a long stint at #1

I’ve said this before but fair play to the selectors and Kohli for taking him to SA and playing him over the other established quicks. Most of us were vehemently against it.
They've done well in general with quicks.

Ishant, Shami and Umesh probably comfortably outperform their career numbers under Kohli.
