Root scores a run!

This is so good from Hazlewood. Relentless bowling.
Maybe I'm putting too much pressure on him but this is what I expected him to do for the last 2 and a half years. Has been simply immense.

Yeah if we've been overly critical of his last two years it's because everyone knows what his actual level of capability really is.

So Root batting 3/4 was a difference of less than an over. I don't think it's going to make much of a difference where he bats if the openers are both walking wickets.

Poignant stumpcam vision there of Jason Roy looking back at the shattered remnants of his test career.

The Roy delivery was a good one, but the position he got himself into was comical.
I feel sorry for him, he has shaped his game to be a one day player and opening in test match cricket is completely foreign to that mindset. You might as well ask someone to be a spy in Russia who cannot speak Russian.

Should move Roy to 3 obviously. He averages 72 there.
Just saw a replay of the wicket.

I retract the above statement.

It's a good ball but FMD what was he doing? No wonder he was mad on his way off; he's just made a mug of himself.

You think England are bowling quite well, but then these come on and do everything the England bowlers do and also keep the runs down.

I think he slipped at the crease. Feel sorry for him tbh. Just a wretched thing to go through for anyone

Is Denly thick? Why does he keep insisting on attempting that shot?
Someday, in the distant future, he will get it to work.

Anyway, what was I originally here to post?

Oh yeah TMS' female commentator has a lovely voice
