You'd think it'd have to take severe dislike of the bloke to boo after that head hit. I guess there's every chance they were all drunk and didn't realise the seriousness of the situation. But I couldn't imagine not being completely tuned in and glued to the game after that first arm hit. It's Lords after all‘Hatred’ get a grip. Seriously, no one at a English ground gives a **** enough to feel such a strong emotion.
Yes, it's not a good look either way. He's saying the crowd was too dumb to realise the severity of a bloke being hit in the head by a 95 mph bumper or they did but were just being dicks. Either way a bad look tstl. You'd think it'd have to take severe dislike of the bloke to boo after that head hit. Possible, but at tea I think you're at a point where Australia can't lose.So there may be no declaration at all? Even at tea?
you do? that's niceLike your posts
Apparently Mark Taylor stated that a lot of people there yesterday were casuals, and had no idea of the significance of the issue. You'd think it'd have to take severe dislike of the bloke to boo after that head hit. Which is exactly why I think it would be exactly the same down here, if not worse. There are a lot of "casual" Aus fans that only show up for the Ashes.Apparently Mark Taylor stated that a lot of people there yesterday were casuals, and had no idea of the significance of the issue.
no uCan't believe Lyon has 355 wickets. How did that happen all of a sudden?
you do? that's nice
OK, only 10 overs were lost. That makes it somewhat easier for England to stay in the match.Possible, but at tea I think you're at a point where Australia can't lose.
I don't know how many overs have been lost today, so I think that will be key in deciding what happens today. I guess there'll be 80 overs bowled? So I think the best approach for England is to attack for 20 overs, get the target up to around 200 and hope that enough wickets fall to not need to declare. It's going to be an extremely delicate balance in any case, and frankly if I were Australia I'd bowl extremely dry and force England to up the pressure. We're 1-0, no need to play too agressively to bowl England out.
I do think at this stage the ball-tampering is being used as an excuse by some people to indulge in behaviour that they would otherwise accept is unconscionable. An MCC member was ejected from the Lord’s pavilion on Saturday for verbally abusing Steve Smith.
Smith was walking through the Long Room after being dismissed for 92 in Australia’s first innings of the second Ashes Test when he was targeted by the unidentified member.
Witnesses to the incident say the individual shouted at Smith, calling him a “cheat” and a “disgrace”. The 30-year-old was banned for a year by Cricket Australia for his part in the ball-tampering scandal last year.
MCC introduced a code of conduct for its members following the club’s AGM in May, with the intention of stamping out poor behaviour.
The guidelines, which MCC said at the time were “both timely and necessary, reflecting the increasingly diverse profile of the membership and the current positive period of change for MCC”, were overwhelmingly voted in at the meeting.
I don’t even get your point? No one booed while he was down from what I’ve seen or heard. You'd think it'd have to take severe dislike of the bloke to boo after that head hit. My point was perhaps there was some hatred. And I'm referring to the booing when he came back to the creaseI don’t even get your point? No one booed while he was down from what I’ve seen or heard.
Well saidhttps://www.thecricketer.com/Topics..._breach_code_conduct_abusing_steve_smith.html

He's bowled better than 0 but not better than 35, if that makes sense. Dropped quite a few short by his standardsLyon's bowled a lot better than 0-35
Interesting. I thought the arm had become the primary concernSo rumours Smith has concussion today. Be out next week too if he has.
