I don’t think it’ll be that hard to swap HK out. Just a minor cost with cancelling flights I suppose. The rest of the logistics can remain for the Play Off team that comes up into League 2.Yea I think if any team deserves to be in the top 13 ODI nations ATM it's Scotland
But then who takes Scotland's place in League 2? I'd pray for HK, but HK have their first round of Challenge League B locked and loaded for this November
Its more the backlash and how bad it will look to cancel a tournament that's been in planning for months on such short notice. It's not just money, it's the work that has gone in by all the sports associations and government bodies.I don’t think it’ll be that hard to swap HK out. Just a minor cost with cancelling flights I suppose. The rest of the logistics can remain for the Play Off team that comes up into League 2.
Wait why does it throw the structure off if you just swap HK with whoever’s next in line? Its more the backlash and how bad it will look to cancel a tournament that's been in planning for months on such short notice. It's not just money, it's the work that has gone in by all the sports associations and government bodies.
Throws the entire Challenge League structure into the air too.
I mean, I'm all for it if it means more ODIs for HK but its not going to be a popular decision lol.
It throws it off if Challenge League B has 5 teams. If you just swap HK out then it's fine, but it's gonna be a massive pain given HK are hosting the first tournament. And that's assuming HK even deserve that 13th slotWait why does it throw the structure off if you just swap HK with whoever’s next in line?
This is what they'll do IMO.Otherwise the easy way out is just to keep the Super League as is and promote an extra team from the WC Qualifiers.
Aren't the current protests doing that anyway?I don’t think it’ll be that hard to swap HK out. Just a minor cost with cancelling flights I suppose. The rest of the logistics can remain for the Play Off team that comes up into League 2.
Don't even need to promote an extra team from WCQs tho. 7+India out of the 12 Super League teams will move to the actual WC. 2 teams from the WCQs can stay as is.This is what they'll do IMO.
Ah yeah, you're right. That makes the most sense if logistics is a problem.Don't even need to promote an extra team from WCQs tho. 7+India out of the 12 Super League teams will move to the actual WC. 2 teams from the WCQs can stay as is.
What they'll need is one extra team in the WCQs, because only 4 will be going into it from the Super League instead of 5. That one extra spot can be taken up by a third team moving up from the playoffs instead of 2.
That might actually be easier than 6+India and 3 WCQ teams.
