*Official* India in West Indies 2019

This could be the first really close test series between India and WI in over a decade. The last one which comes to mind is 2006 when India just about managed to win with the help of epics from Dravid.

GoodAreasShane

Cricketer Of The Year
He has been seriously impressive in the A series regularly troubling some excellent Indian batsmen. He has decent pace, movement both ways and a bit of aggression. I like him a lot.
Absolutely, looks and bowls like a proper Caribbean quick should, love his work. Besides if/when he gets the call up he will be the first non Australian I have watched live before his international debut

We have some good quicks in the pipeline.

Romario Shepherd stands tall among the rest. Holder blew me away in that second unofficial test. I like him

Stats and trivia

-Gayle is 12 short of Brian Lara's tally of 10,405 ODI runs, the most by a West Indies batsman.

-Kuldeep Yadav has taken 93 wickets in 51 ODIs, which leaves him four matches to beat Mohammed Shami and become the fastest from India to hundred ODI wickets

-Bangladesh played two ODIs @providence Ground, Guyana last year and scored 268 and 279 in their two digs.

- West Indies haven't won a bilateral ODI series since August 2014. They also haven't beaten India in their last eight series against them.

- Virat Kohli is 19 runs shy of pipping Javed Miandad (1930 runs) as the player with the most ODI runs against West Indies

What they said:

"For us, the priority has always been to be one of the most consistent sides in the world and in the last three to four years, I think we've been able to achieve that. We're the no.2 side in the world and there's a good reason to that. We've been at no.1 as well sometime. It's the kind of cricket that we've played that has gotten us up here." - Virat Kohli

:) You did say he was promising a while ago tbf. He looked seriously good again yesterday evening.

Yep and if you look at the Under 19 tournament that has just finished we have an embarrassment of riches in this area. Serious pace and movement all over the place, at least 6 excellent prospects.

However, the batting is a real problem with no decent options available.

Are you talking about Chemar H ?

I am impress with Off break Frazer
Yep Chemar H. He has made some very promising Indian batsmen look silly in this series. Really excited about his progress.

I'm also impressed with Frazer. HE gives it a rip and bowls a good attacking line outside off-stump. Mind you, it is taking a lot of spin, Gowtham was close to unplayable at times.

As for this ODI series, I just want to get on with the tests. Perhaps I sound like an old man now but I enjoyed the World Cup, now I want to see our test side in action.

Still, as it's happening, I would like to see our batting post some larger scores and do the right things more consistently (rotate the strike, weather the storm if they need to etc).

I would particularity like to see:

- An opener not named Gayle score some good runs
- Shai Hope get back on the century scoring wagon but to get back to the 80 strike rate of pre-world cup cricket
- Hetmeyer to return to form
- Pooran to continue his progress.

Not happy with that bowling attack. It's either Right arm medium fast or part-time spin. Nothing different at all.

Batting looks extremely strong but that hardly every ends up being the case.
