Honestly in situations like that the 3rd umpire should be allowed to overturn the umpire's decision as to whether he was playing a shot. Be very difficult to adjudicate though.

Another poor decision. How on earth was he playing a shot?
Na can't say it's a poor decision. No umpire in the world is giving that. It's moreso the ambiguity in what a shot actually is. I seem to remember Australia had a similar decision in the third innings

Honestly in situations like that the 3rd umpire should be allowed to overturn the umpire's decision as to whether he was playing a shot. Be very difficult to adjudicate though.
There needs to be a clear directive about bat-hiding. It's something that has been gotten away with for years, although that was a notably blatant example. The face needs to be visible from the straight/umpire's perspective or something.

I'd give it. I am a bowler though.


Jeez that might have carried. I think that counts as a miss, albeit not an easy one.
