Pitch does go through periods where it looks like it's kinda died out. Maybe a very subjective view but after day 1, it doesn't seem to have done as much as consistently as we've seen in England in recent years. Maybe Australia will prove me wrong in the 4th innings though.

It's about the driest wicket in years in England. Really dies when the ball gets soft.

Yeah was definitely hardest to bat on day 1, first session especially.

Think we could make a game of it up to about 220 but long past the point where we would be comfortable.

Fair play to Australia like
Been in such a great position twice in this match. Still they do have Bradman and no Anderson has been huge.

I just really don't want to have to watch Lyon bowling us out.

Aussies need to set up declaration say around 350 in 110 overs the target, it a risky total but you need to give yourself a chance to win a very important match.

It's as though Smith got completely pissed that a scrub like Burns made a ton that diminished his own. So he made another one just to prove it wasn't a fluke like Burns' one was.
