he actually got quite good at leaving the ball and trolling people into his favourite shots before he got scapegoated for the south african series.

He played long enough IMO. 24 Tests as a top-four player for no tons a sub 26 average is probably enough.

Burns carrying on his career here; maybe they can combine records after all is said and done for 50 odds Tests and no tons.

Gotta keep in mind though that even if he never improves his conversion rate much, he's still basically a better version of VVS Laxman, and you take a batsman of that quality that any day.
