With the way Ath chewed "inexperienced" I'm going to wager it wasn't the first adjective he thought of when he was trying to describe the combined batting talents of Burns and Denly.

if daniel flynn could have fluked a few innings of substance against bowling attacks like this he might have played a bit longer

he actually got quite good at leaving the ball and trolling people into his favourite shots before he got scapegoated for the south african series.

I will say Burns has played some genuinely good shots on occasion. I do agree he's been lucky but I don't think he's batted ****.

Tbf to Root, he converted his last three fifties before that one, so the pattern hasn't really continued.

He played long enough IMO. 24 Tests as a top-four player for no tons a sub 26 average is probably enough.

Burns carrying on his career here; maybe they can combine records after all is said and done for 50 odds Tests and no tons.

denly showed signs of being a fun fc standard only player against ireland so im hopeful for a funny partnership

funny = australian fans moaning that pattinson and cummins cant get these two out while siddle takes 5/50

you can have a poor method and still do well through force of will and overcoming your crapness

it's temporary, but today he has played ok. not great, he's not steve smith by any stretch, but today he has been ok.

crap players are allowed good days. to say what you are is richardism.
Sure you can, but you can also have a poor method and still do well because your edges keep going between slips and you aren't given out when you miss straight balls.

Honestly, I probably enjoy watching cricket more myself when I am less partisan, can appreciate good play for what it is
Haha I'd legitimately consider flying to South Australia for a week to watch a Sheffield Shield game with you, but an Ashes Test would be lower on the agenda for this reason.

So galling that we could have had them at least three down by now and that Burns is probably going to ton up.

greg hay has been robbed. loves an all eye square drive off middle stump which i suspect is dubious for an opener, but he's ****ing robbed.

Warne talking sense about balls here. Also finally pointing out that Lyon's bowling too straight, which he has all match (and honestly career) to the right handers. Funny how no-one else caught that.

When Warne says Lyon bowls too straight, is he talking about today or generally? If it's the latter, I dont think that's accurate at all. Over the last few years, Lyon has done a great job using that wide of off line every time Ive watched him bowl.

I feel like he's referring to today.
