Ah if you're extending it beyond Australians then Philander, Abbas and Abbott are really good at it too. Hazlewood does deliberately bowl one even though it's not on this sort of level - he more gets wickets through bounce/accuracy.

Cummins bowl a good one accidentally, but I don't think that counts.
Wait a minute. I've been told by some of the finest minds on here that what Abbas and Philander (and Asif further back) bowl is a special 'wobble seam' delivery and not a cutter, even though in terms of mechanics they work identically to the cutters I trundle down in fifth grade, just they bowl 35 km/h faster. Are you saying I was right all this time?

Also I think there's a continuum between that and fully sidespinning deliveries that really isn't exploited these days. Like when guys would cut down their runup and pace and focus on getting it to move.

i don't rate burns' technique at all but i always enjoy a stubborn flawed opener doing the business unless my team is on the receiving end

Bit worried what Bancroft will do after tea tbh
I'm much less worried about his second innings now that Anderson is scrubbed.

And yeah I know the real point of this post, but you realise England's batting hasn't even really started right?

Faulkner always being on debut is a CW meme based on the commentators referring to such repeatedly in like his third T20I or something. NUFAN is particularly fond of this meme.
I'm assuming James Faulkner will debut today, who do you think he'll replace?

I'm going to go with Shaun Marsh. I think Marsh is a fine T20 player usually but for the sake of the team Voges will be moved up to 3 where he played domestically with success and then Bailey will be listed at 4 although most likely Maxwell or Wade on there home ground will bat there to try and lift the run rate or whatever.
James Faulkner did not debut on that day...

Been at the pub until now, watching the game there, been fairly disappointing for Australia. Well done to Burns, he certainly hasn't been pretty, but he has played solidly and taken advantage of anything going down leg. Root has played well also, touch loose outside off as of late but plenty of classy shots. Need Lyon to bowl a long spell here

He's Flynn/10 in every way. You could sub Flynn in for him and no-one would notice IMO.
yes that jammy front foot across and ending up neither forward nor back but almost cross legged is extremely daniel flynn.

khawaja is actually playing a lot straighter and stiller these days i've noticed. he used to do the same, but now his technique gives the illusion of lazy rather than busy.

If we're being honest, he's not been "nuggety" or "fought it out", he's just been shite. Technique is all over the place. Worst thing how reluctant people are to call shite batting shite when lucky runs come.
