Bit of a crazy day that. Our batting is a serious issue but it is what it is.
I find it highly pretentious when an Indian poster uses anglo slangs like ffs. It's not organic at all.Or Steyn. Or Rabada. Or Boult! India has nothing to do with this game ffs.
He's averages 42.71 since being given the captaincy...that joe root test average nose dive tho.
might check out the odds on him retiring sub 45.
Mick Vaughan reported (with no little relish, it must be said, never knowingly not a prick these days) it was the 33rd time YJB has been bowled in tests.also Bairstows current trajectory will have him averaging sub 35 by the end of the year.
englands regulars are as much an issue as guys like burns and denly
probably bettered by only vaughan himselfMick Vaughan reported (with no little relish, it must be said, never knowingly not a prick these days) it was the 33rd time YJB has been bowled in tests.
CBA to check, but that sounds a very high percentage of dismissals for a top order player.
Which is especially concerning considering how many of these guys are supposed to be starting/in their peaks...also Bairstows current trajectory will have him averaging sub 35 by the end of the year.

31 times according to statsguru, 29% of all of his dismissals.Mick Vaughan reported (with no little relish, it must be said, never knowingly not a prick these days) it was the 33rd time YJB has been bowled in tests.

Or the stumble after being bowled to make it look like it kept low when in reality you just missed a straight one.probably bettered by only vaughan himself
yjb yet to master that mischievous look at the track tho that makes the viewer think the pitch was playing up rather than the batsman not being up to it
The Tendulkar specialty that oneOr the stumble after being bowled to make it look like it kept low when in reality you just missed a straight one.

The greatest of all batsmen, Don Bradman, was bowled in a higher percentage of his Test innings than Bairstow (23 times out of his 70 dismissals, 32.86%). His bowled dismissals as a proportion of balls received will not be especially high in comparison to other batsmen though. The percentage of bowled dismissals is high primarily because he didn't get out in other ways, rather than due to any relative weakness at missing straight ones.Which is especially concerning considering how many of these guys are supposed to be starting/in their peaks...

But when Bairstow does it it’s with an ugly swipe. Vaughan played elegant cover drives at thin air while his off stump disappeared, which is better because it’s funnier.Or the stumble after being bowled to make it look like it kept low when in reality you just missed a straight one.
Crap, you have just destroyed an urban myth. I looked this stat up to see if correct and then found that Bradman was caught 39 times out of 70 innings, so more than half. I always heard/read that he hardly ever hit the ball in the air????The greatest of all batsmen, Don Bradman, was bowled in a higher percentage of his Test innings than Bairstow (23 times out of his 70 dismissals, 32.86%). I obviously greatly overrated the World Cup "winners" *TMWow that's a terrible looking batting lineup. Hope Ireland can roll them for 200.
But Bradman scored almost 7,000 Test runs and his strike rate is usually reported in the low 60s which would imply he faced around 11,000 balls in Tests. 39 caught dismissals in 11,000 balls is one every 280 balls, which I think will be astonishingly low compared to almost anyone else ever.Crap, you have just destroyed an urban myth. zYou'll see whiny English posters crawl out of their holes when England's top order lollapses again, this time versus Ireland.
