Stokes would definitely be worth a couple of overs with the amount of swing that Wood is getting.
You'd have thought so. Someone was saying the other day that Stokes is England's most economical bowler in this WC, so I'm not sure how Rashid gets the newish ball instead of him.

not sure with the amount of swing on offer and grass on the pitch that England can pull off going all guns blazing v boult and henry

On the positive side, batting is looking easier now the ball is not so new and the pitch is evening out, on the negative this makes me think we need to set a higher target.

Stokes is the 5th seam bowler, what about that is hard for you to work out? You clearly haven't watched England play over the last few years if you think a) Hales is injured b) Morgan is ever going to play in an ODI with only 5 bowlers (one of whom is Stokes).
bro relax, my maths is fine. Stokes wouldn't be the 5th bowler if of the 2 we're discussing wasn't playing, he'd be the 4th bowler. That's why I referred to them as 5th bowler because they'd be surplus in the scenario I'm proposing.

I forgot that Hales retired

Stokes isn't good enough to bowl 10 and barely ever has for England in ODIs. Hales has been dropped for doing coke, he is not retired

Yeah I think he just smoked a bit of herb and that was the end of him
But it seems to be okay to be a raging alcoholic like most of the other players.

Are you just saying that because he was born overseas? A bit elitist of you.

And yes ftr I knew all along that the reason Hales was unavailable because he actually moved to Norway to qualify for their olympic curling team

This is great phase for NZ. They have scored 69 runs in last 12 overs. They should be huge favorites now.

Seeings as English series end at the Oval, the final should've been held there. It's just much more conducive to a good atmosphere than Lords.

He was retired by captain and coach due to his recreational activities wasn't he?

It's red ball cricket that he retired from.
91JMay's faulty sarcasm detector rubbing off on people ITT

I legitimately didn't know that he retired from red ball cricket though
