That has literally no relevance to whether they should be playing in England's side ahead of another batsmen? Don't think you've thought about this much.
It's a pretty simple equation. A decent extra batsman would provide more than an ordinary 5th seam bowler does. Too bad Hales is injured or they probably would have gone with the extra bat.

Or if England really wanted another fast bowler recruiting another young gun from an under-priviliged country might have been better than a so-so county trundler

bairstow is a great bat but the thing i’ve noticed about him is how ****ing good he is on the boundary

Would be cruel if NZ fight hard and bat out of their skins to get 280, then England come out and chase it down in 35 overs, 1 down

Stokes is the 5th seam bowler, what about that is hard for you to work out? You clearly haven't watched England play over the last few years if you think a) Hales is injured b) Morgan is ever going to play in an ODI with only 5 bowlers (one of whom is Stokes).
