Australia's relaxed air was evident as they prefaced their training session by singing happy birthday to Austin Marsh, son of Shaun. Later in the afternoon, some of the players wrestled with the toddler on the outfield.

Wade for Maxwell wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, but I'm not entirely convinced that Maxwell should be dropped. He's had a pretty ordinary world cup but you always get the feeling that if he can survive the first five balls he could be in for a big, important innings.

It's only in a position to work due to the failures of 5 and 6, if the changes you make to the middle order work, Carey will cease to work successfully anyway

No, 10 overs between Maxwell (6), Smith (2) Finch (1) and Wade (1). I mean Finch and Wade bowling one each could be genius as no English player would dare get out to them

Now that Usman is injured we need to strengthen the batting so there's no way we'll play NCN for Stoinis, not that there was much chance of that anyway. Just something I wouldn't have minded seeing.

If Wade and Handscomb play I'd pick Stoinis over Maxie. The side will more likely get more value from Stoinis' bowling than Maxie playing a blinder. Especially as England will be bombing him with Archer, Wood and Stokes. Besides Carey has been playing the sort of knocks in lieu of Maxie. On their present form Stoinis may likely play a good innings as Maxie.

Unless it's really a seamer's pitch then you can get 10 overs out of Maxwell + Smith easily. If you want a 4th seamer pick Coulter-Nile ahead of Handscomb, not Stoinis
