We are very bad. I don't want us to go out but we really don't deserve to go through.

Even with a free hit, we miss. That takes some doing.

Pretty pissed off.

One of England's weaknesses is that they haven't got a decent spinner. They tried and failed with several after Graeme Swanny called it a day.

Rashid bowls too many fourballs. In a close game he could be the difference . .
Rashid's looked quality for a couple of years- takes wickets but can be expensive but we know that(although he's had a poor world cup). My point was that Root is now as good as Ali for a second spinner.

Looks like NZ aren't really going to go for the win from here, which is probably the right decision. Just make sure they absolutely can't get knocked out

Also now that I think about it, have any spinners had a decent world cup?
Shakib has and so have Mujeeb and Nabi. Rashid has been a shadow of himself this World Cup, even though Morgan has insisted that he is not affected by the injured shoulder. I’m not sure if there are any better options either. Liam Dawson could have been tried earlier but it would seem silly to throw him into the mix for a World Cup SF.

I guess, but none have really been dominant in the way some of the pace men have.

Yeah just sucks the joy out of the game completely, but necessary in the light of some utterly irresponsible cricket till now.

Hope Latham doesn't go completely into his shell, was playing pretty fluently in that partnership with Neesham; which is a minor positive for NZ.

New Zealand quicks really were abysmal with the new ball. Also just goes to show how great JB and Roy batted.

People have been suggesting this isn't his usual voice/accent/tone, wonder if he's been compelled to ham it up a bit for this tournament.
Went to a posh college I think. It's how he awlays talks. He is a bit of a **** tbh (the facade of classiness I've never bought), but I enjoy him as a commentator quite a bit.

Unless Eng win it too comfortably (like if they get NZ out within the next 10runs), then pretty much, yeah.
Think they're all but out. The equation for them is something ridiculous and then too they need to absolutely bat first. Even in a game you absolutely dominate winning by a margin of 100+ runs is quite hard.

I mean I can see there’s no point in doing anything risky given the net run rate situation, but seeing as how safe you are couldn’t they at least try slogging so the ticket buying customers get something.
