Mr. Glass
if we see plunkett off and take 15 off his 3 overs, we should be able to hit out against the others

but wood makes me wary

Yeah, he's so good at hitting boundaries once he gets going that he more than makes up for it on the whole, but his slow starts that don't kick on tend to be pretty turgid
Fair enough. None of it really applies to Pant though who has already shown today he loves running singles. He's not only capable of ODI batting he seems tailor made for it. He has a Maxwell mentality, it's surprising his test batting has been so successful so far

Strike rotation has been poor but credit to England they've bowled well to their fields. Kohli was starting to work the gaps well and got out trying to manipulate a wide one and failed to control the bounce. 330 is definitely an above par score here. Roy's knock at the top and Stokes' cameo at the end have set England up here. Bairstow's ton of course was very good too, despite the luck and scratchyness.

Good innings from Rohit but the way he has struggled for fluency suggests that these are not 330 conditions.

Entertaining WC debut for Pant this. First nearly runs himself out twice in 3 balls, then unveils his unorthodox flicks to leg, and then loses his bat.

Hit a few sixes now please.

10 an over for 15 overs. If this gets to 12 soon, it would be next to impossible.
Tbf if you had to select two batsmen at the crease + a next man in to go at 10-12 an over for 15 overs, it'd probably be set Rohit, Pant and Hardik?

I can’t tell if it’s England’s game or India’s . This game has been weirdly docile yet hangs in the balance.

still a mighty big task even for them

run-a-ball isn't going to cut it anymore.
