Stoinis looked pretty ordinary with the bat but Oz seems determined to play him so bat him up the order in one of the final games & see whether he can get some form

I really like that, I wish they would do it. Stoinis has been useless. Carey can do a job at 6 and NCN's batting has looked better than Stoinis' anyway. It would be huge to have 50 overs of front-line bowling available and on current form you don't lose anything with the bat.
I first suggested that after the Pakistan series though. Another win for trundler.

A positive for England is that Stokes genuinely impressed. Attacked Cummins by coming down the pitch and unsettling his length. Hit those 4s into gaps. Didn't attempt gutless hacky slogs and actually batted with a brain. Was great to watch. You can't fault him for getting out to the best ball of the tournament. Bowlee well on top of that. England's deep batting lineup essentially has 3 players — him, Root and Buttler.

Sensational from Dorff, pretty good for a bloke who apparently isn't FC standard
Let's not get carried away. Sure he bowled a great ball to get a wicket first over but it was only Vince. And a lot of his wickets were tailenders hitting catches slogging at the end of the innings. I do rate him though.

Australia showed the benefit of having 3 test bats in the top 4 playing in familiar positions when faced with reasonable bowling conditions

Vince is not top quality, Bairstow is a good player but not an opener while Morgan is a short form specialist - big difference

Omg that Morgan press conference

So good. Such troll questions
"Kevin Pietersen said on Twitter that you looked scared of Australia's bowlers" is probably very high on the list of sentences perfectly phrased to annoy englishmen.

Only really wrote that because of how hard Burgey is tasting it right now.

I have seen a fair bit of him in the Shield and he is a top notch bowler there when he's not broken. There are guys who take bulk Shield wickets I rate far less

He's miles better than Sean Abbott, that's for sure.

Yep

Dorf’s biggest issue has been staying on the paddock

Guy has always been able to bowl

Bish, plz

Sean Abbott would open the bowling for every other country at this WC and his exclusion from the current Australian squad goes to illustrate the anti-NSW-and-Parramatta bias of the selectors and coach. Bloke is a genius. Will get an Ashes call up and will dominate with the Duke ball. He makes it talk.

Yeah, I predicted England would implode while everyone else said they were favourites to win the whole thing; said they were an excellent chance of missing the finals before they even played SL and the side I support is currently fielding its weakest WC side since 1992 yet is top of the table, assured of a finals spot and is going to win the thing anyway.

The only thing I'm tasting hard atm is the backlash from the kebab I went and bought at about 1 am this morning.

This side they've somehow stumbled upon is probably better than 2011 tbf.
Not so sure tbh. May be a close thing.

I've often thought the 96 side was pretty over rated, but I think that's because I expected them to win at the time and they went out and disgraced themselves, their country and their people by losing a final. Losing!. So I kind of consigned them to mediocrity, which is probably a bit harsh, but you can do that when you're Australian, because winning. But now when I look back, that was a good side also, and my perception is tainted by Taylor being in the team and skipper when he really wasn't an ODI player's arsehole, despite making 70 odd in the final. But a side with both Waughs, Ponting (albeit young), Warne, Fleming, McGrath, Reiffel, Bevan and Healy should really have won it. They certainly let every Australian - living, dead and not yet born - down that day.

Burgey did you miss ABs commentary stint
No I heard it, and as always with the great man it was understated in its brilliance. Loved the way he basically just let Slater rave on and embarrass himself, threw in the odd comment but was so quiet Slats basically had to make a joke out of it at the end. Was the commentary version of throwing the dribbler under a bus. I actually wonder if he may have had a few at lunch so was quieter than usual, but how good is it to see him there?
