Most uninspiring captain around. Looks perpetually constipated, constantly curses at his own fielders, and bats like a jackass.
Largely agree, Virat has tried to improve his batting in the last year tbf but even that is very much a project in the making.

It's not just that. I actively disliked some of the Pakistani batsmen of the 90s, but never their bowlers. Sohail, Ijaz, Malik esp. Anwar a little. Afridi and Inzi were fine.
Anwar was the one Pak batsman I really liked from that era. Was oozing class every time he batted.

Pakistan has some real work to do after this world cup. While it is understandable that world class batsmen and bowlers do not grow on trees, fielding cannot be this miserable. Modern coaches and team management lay a lot of stress on uplifting fielding standards but Pakistan has been left in the dust in this regard.

Winning matters.

Pakistan cannot rely on being horribly bad through 4 years and then expect to do great in World cups. Yeah they have pulled off wins when everyone has written them off but how many were one offs or also flukes?

They are similar to West Indies. Consistency is needed and success will breed success. When the team is stable and winning, then the backroom issues, board politics and even monetary issues will also start getting resolved simultaneously.

The way to winning would be to treat all the rest of the series and matches equally as important as world cups. Fight tooth and nail in those matches. That mentality and action will help Pakistan and Windies a lot. They have certainly got the talent to pull it off.

KL Rahul has stepped in adequately for now. Would really love to see him make a big score though. Such a breathtaking batsman when on song. Plays godly strokes.

I was really impressed with the speeds Bhuvneshwar was hitting. We know he's accurate and good with the new ball but those were serious wheels. He's quality and hopefully we see more of him ASAP. Unlike Stoinis.
