Very imposing total, batted very well led obviously by then enigma that is Jason Roy. Takes more than the odd chance but plays such beautiful shots and hits the ball so hard! Top batting unit this, now let Wood and Archer loose in search of wickets.

I know Moeen's batting was horrible against Pakistan, but if we're happy with Woakes and Plunkett at 7 & 8, Moeen could simply have batted at 9.
I think, though, if he'd been playing, Mo would have been sent in ahead of Plunkett and probably ahead of Woakes - no way he should be on current form, of course, but it's what I think would have happened and it would likely have cost us. Not that I expected a 27*(9) from Plunkers, mind

Comparing to their own eras, there is a fair argument that Roy has been at least as good a player though. Roy averages 42 and a great SR which is roughly in line with a very good opener in todays cricket. Waugh averaged low 30s with a decent strike rate, which is roughly in line with a good middle order player in his era.
Jason Roy. A man long known for dragging his side to WC glory while scoring vital KO tons and captaining from the front, having bowled at the death and scored valuable runs as a 20 yo all rounder in another winning effort 12 years earlier.

Get. In. The. Bin. You do not know your own arse from your elbow, cricket wise. Utter junk.

Still doing your research on how wrong you were about Stokes' legal situation?

Obviously one is at the start of his career and the other has finished - it's called projecting a career forward based on a trajectory. Roy has had a great start statistically and should have this WC and one more to prove himself, old man shouting at clouds though always the same with you.

Pretty scary how Archer just goes up a gear in pace with no change in action or effort.

Is a better bowler the fuller he bowls too. Doesn't move it much at all but if all he does for the time-being is throw them up then shock several shades of **** out of the bats with the occasional rib-tickler, absolute weapon.

Woo! This Archer is bowling even faster now. Would love to see if he can swing it a bit with the red Dukes.

Stop mentioning Mark Wood. He is dogshit and rarely gets it above mid 80s for more than an over. 3

Woakes and Plunket probably the greatest beneficiaries of scoreboard pressure. Filth.
