Had Hope batted at a somewhat respectable 80+ s/r they would have needed less than a run a ball in the last 10 so there would be no need for the stupid shots they've been playing.
They weren't playing the stupid shots because they were "needed".

It was a high risk approach but it paid off. We could all have been cursing him at this moment. Still brilliant tho
Yeah, took some serious stones to play it as he did. Gutsy stuff and his bowlers have backed him up.

Great win this. As I type Starc gets his fifth. Cunmins has been brilliant too. Even NCN bowled I think the 43rd and went for only a couple. Was just clutch in the circumstances.

This seems like an outcome where it will benefit both teams. I can see Australia gaining momentum form here on. Ofcourse the batting and Maxwell/Stoinis spot leaves much to be desired but the momentum is with them. Also, Windies should be mad at this loss, they had Australia down and out on a few occasions but got complacent. Maybe this will push them further vs the likes of India, England and their next vs Saf

Starc's WC record is pretty unbelievable haha. At this point he'd be a lock in for an AT WC XI.

One of the more well-deserved five wicket hauls you'll see
Yep. Genuinely stepped it up right when needed. Scary stuff moving ahead. Bit of reverse at the death on a dry deck too. What a spell.

Our batting still needs to pull its collective head in though.

It's a World Cup and Australia have that ominous look about them. Gonna take something special to stop these ****s.

Bumrah's new ball spell was very good.
Ofcourse but the circumstances were different. He was bowling first not defending so no pressure or a different degree of it and Saffers have been atrocious. So far this spell is better.

They really struggled to rotate the strike after Hope got out. Really boundary-reliant for runs.
Yup. Brathwaite just looked unable to rotate the strike so I can get why he was trying to smoke some boundaries. But Russell was just flexing himself, so to speak.
