It is unlikely to get another run of Rice, McMillan, Klusener, Pollock, Kallis, but even someone like an Andrew Hall, Justin Kemp, Hansie, or Boje would be useful. It's been a problem for some time. Despite a long history of good allrounders there haven't been too many of late, and the lack of allrounders resulted in going with a strategy of picking a gun bowling attack who can contain teams and defend well so that the lack of batting depth won't get shown up. Unfortunately, that's all gone out the window with injuries to Nortje, Ngidi, and now Steyn.
As a left-hander wouldn't you want to bat on off-stump to Bumrah ?
We just had a period of not great all-rounders, not that SA have not tried a few. Got some youngsters coming up. One in particular that has potential to become part of the first group. It is unlikely to get another run of Rice, McMillan, Klusener, Pollock, Kallis, but even someone like an Andrew Hall, Justin Kemp, Hansie, or Boje would be useful.
We can only hope.Probable the last world cup for most of these South Africa, it gonna be kinda sad to see South Africa get eliminated so early and see FAF in tears.
Faf is the only hope. (Markram could have done it...)Who is playing one of SAs all time great ODI innings today ?
Can't say goodbye to Duminy soon enough. We can only hope.
