Seems a bit premature to call this a crap game on the basis of 5 overs.
Guess it shows how people rate Afghanistan.

Rahmat's been batting well though. Looking forward to see how they bowl, shame it will be when it's like 2am or something.

All the matches in this WC so far have been disappointing. Just when one thought eliminating some of the minnows would make matches more competitive, a few better teams hit a trough.

Agreed.

However the first two overs were shockingly bad cricket from Afghanistan.

Now that we've brought on a non Starc/Cummins bowler things might settle down a bit.

It's good to see Slats isn't in an institution though. Has bounced back from that very strange incident the other week

Totally shits me that he didn't replace Jhye.
Langer's stupid theories are very annoying. Someone with proven class as an ODI bowler is going to be better once fully fit than a much worse bowler even if they haven't played for a bit.

Also til that 'shits' is uncensored here.

I mean if these guys get 250 that's fine. I just don't want a third sub 150 score in a row. That's just ****

i can't believe samiullah shenwari's still around, i feel like he hasn't even played since the last cwc for some reason. kinda forgot about him
He has been in and out of the xi in the last 4 years - the new super-spinners have made his selection tougher

Rahmat keeping it simple and with some nice shots but not really hurting the Aussies yet. If he rotates the strike a bit, could do some damage.

This will be like the Scotland game in '99. They're just trying to save face, can't see them really putting up an imposing total

I do think that Australia got their selections right for this game. Coulter- Nile is the best of the three backup quicks. Leaving Marsh out was the right thing to do as well.

I remain unconvinced of Khawaja playing as anything other than opener given his still meh-at-best strike rotation, but he's earned the chance to prove me wrong so I'm happy for them to give it a go.
