No, not really. Botham bashed India many times. See his record against India late 70s and early 80s.
He scored a double hundred against India in 1982. Scored against Kapil and some other random nobodies.

I don't think you are getting it. The period you have taken 1977-92 is the whole career of Botham. He, however, played all his tests against India between 1979-82. So 12 out of 15 years which you are talking about are not even relevant to the discussion.

India played 6 tests at home against a Packer affected Australian bowling lineup of Hogg,Hurst,Higgs,Dymock,Yardley. They played another 6 at home against Pakistan having Imran(who was surely world class but not yet the bowler he went on to become) and some others. India did have to face Lillee in 1980-81 though.
WI and Aus batting during this period had to face superior lineups, more so when they faced each other.
