Really is City, Liverpool GAP Spurs MASSIVE GAP Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd at the moment.
I pretty much agree with that order, but my instinct is Arsenal then Chelsea. I wonder where Chelsea will be after Hazard goes this summer.

That PFA team of the year is amusing. Pogba randomly being in a side otherwise made up exclusively of City and Liverpool players.

Think you right. There is probably more scope for them to improve as well. Chelsea just seem a club confused at the moment on where do they go to improve and obviously the transfer ban.

:D Indeed. Pogba maybe lucky to get in ? Other options maybe Ndidi or James Maddinson ?

Really has been an odd season for Spurs. Obviously the new stadium and them not spending but you got to feel this is a big summer in sorting their squad issues out a bit.

When I saw Pogba I was like wtf, but the other options are pretty meh too. David Silva has still been better than Pogba, but he's dropped off quite a bit. Then maybe Ruben Neves? He'd be more deserving but can hardly blame players for going with a highlights-reel player over someone consistent.

I think Chelsea are still slightly better. The club seems to be falling apart but I haven't seen a properly dire performance from them in a while. Arsenal have had two this week.

Should've just gone 4-4-2 and put Hazard in.

Not sure there's a "MASSIVE GAP" from Spurs to the other three. Until their scratchy win over Brighton while the others faltered, their place in the top four looked in doubt, and isn't even certain now.

The reason I say it, is continuity. They have more top quality players than the other 3 and have a better team. That was without purchasing this whole season.

I just think they have a better base to kick on further away than the others. What they have done with a small squad is pretty admirable.

If I had to put their team up against the top 2 consistently I think they would compete more than the other 3. They would see the ball as much as the top 2 if they wanted too. They just need better depth to their squad and they have a football identity like City/Liverpool at the moment for me. I agree with Andmark , I would probably put Arsenal 4th because of the scope to improve like I said above. I think Emery needed this season to assess things and quite a few players will leave this summer and help them kick on.

Aaaah finally look like you going to be heading back to the top flight this season. Fair play to your owner getting the genius Bielsa in.

I'm Forest so been in the wilderness for ages too. Hoping with our progression we will be genuine promotion contenders next season.

There's a gap between Spurs and those immediately below them, but it's hardly massive, as is evidenced by the fact that they have lost at least once against all of Arsenal, Chelsea and Utd, and would have lost to Arsenal twice had Aubameyang not bollocksed up that last minute pen (that should have been retaken anyway).

They’re in a CL semi-final though.

I know it’s close in terms of points and there are competitive games between them and the others. But I think overall they’re pretty clearly better. Similar attack to the others but with a much, much better defence.

I wouldn’t use the Champions League as a benchmark. They stumbled through the group stage and were fortunate against City. Chelsea proved in 2012 what can happen in that to a less than great team. All bar the top two have had good and bad runs. Since they fell of the coat tails of the top two Spurs have looked pretty average a lot of the time.

I would still back a Spurs team more than the other 3 against the top 2 teams. They are quite a level ahead of the other 3 despite the table saying different. All about personal perception.

Spurs, whilst having a footballing identity under Poch also do have a much stronger defence in Vertonghen & Alderweireld (as UpperCut states) especially when you compare them to Arsenal, Man Utd and Chelsea's defence.

Norwood's on Fire
I had Adrian Durham on for half an hour earlier (sue me) and discovered Spurs had lost eleven games. That’s a lot! However from memory they have hardly drawn any

Did he shout, scream and spit at anyone who said even slightly positive things about Spurs like he does whenever he talks?

No he was relatively relaxed for the half hour I had him on, he wasn’t happy about Pogba being in the team of the year though

Think Spurs are better than the other top four chasing teams but not by a lot. They've had a lot of games like the one on Tuesday where Son or Eriksen score a late goal. One draw all season is honestly ridiculous and unrepeatable. Obviously some of their losses could've been draws as well as some of their wins, but it would've had to be >67% losses for this whole no drawing thing to not benefit them.

That said the fact they're in this position despite no signings for two windows and a bad Kane season is pretty damn incredible. People wouldn't have thought that possible a year ago.

I think there's a general acceptance that, resource limitations notwithstanding, they know what they're doing at a fundamental level that can't be said of the other three, though.

They certainly have the advantage of continuity and apparent stability that the other's don't. But they have a few players and a manager who could well move on at any time and despite their progress they've still won nothing.
