Can't think of many Arsenal players in my lifetime who have been as damaging to the club as Mustafi. Probably only Almunia even gets close.

Got to give credit to the dude who gave Smalling, Jones and Rojo new contracts, tie them down so rivals would be reluctant to buy them, and if someone comes knocking, imagine the massive money they would pay for such gun defenders.:)

The Crystal Palace second goal is so loveably route one. Granted Mustafi should do better, but when it comes off, route one football is so wonderful.

Senderos probably the most consistently crap player who played loads for me.

I'd also have Mustafi over Squillaci as well. But yeah he is awful. But we all knew that already.

Neither.

Cygan didn't play nearly as much, and Manninger was a perfectly serviceable keeper.
Skillwise yes, but Manninger always seemed to carry himself with the poise of a random fan that had been railroaded into playing in goal at the last minute rather than a pro footballer that had been training for the moment all week.

Eboue and Bendtner have some sliding doors moments where everything could have been different for Arsenal but for hilarious moments of severe ineptitude.

None come close to Almunia really though. He was costing them buckets of points every season when they were regularly falling just short of titles.

Disagree.

If by a quirk of fate Arsenal or Chelsea finish in the top 4 and win the Europa League what happens to the spare slot in the Champions League?

IIRC it only becomes an issue if that happens and Spurs win the CL and fail to finish top 4. We're limited to a max of 5 teams in the CL with the euro winners taking preference so 4th place would miss out

A commentator on the radio said that yesterday.
