It was a bizarre scorecard. Smith with ther best strike rate for his side but a worse strike rate than anyone on the other side. Did the pitch characteristics change significantly?

Excellent, excellent knock from Smith considering the conditions. Stokes sucked up some momentum towards the end and Buttler getting out was annoying too.

Wait was it really an excellent knock? Not claiming to have seen it, but two things from the scorecard were noticeable; 1) the fact Smith struck at just a 120 SR in spite of the fact they only lost 3 wickets in the whole 20 overs &; 2) How quickly and easily KKR chased the target down.

Sounds like he batted far too slowly for a modern day T20 innings.

On a pitch where the par score would have been 180 or so, he played half the quota of balls for his team and remained unbeaten on 73.
A truly appalling knock, I would say.

No one could get a move on in RR's innings. He batted faster than Buttler. KKR bowled REALLY well.

Yeah, admittedly the bowling has been very good in the bits of the IPL that I've watched so far.
Nevertheless, there is something fundamentally wrong with the approach to limited overs batting if a team reaches a score that is well below par, but still has seven wickets left in the end. Smith's knock would have been a good one if his team was in trouble, say tottering at at 49/5, at the end of seven overs.

And how the **** does Stokes make 7 off 14 at the end of the innings? How do you not at least get a run a ball? I didn't watch it but you'd have to be playing and missing nearly everything

So Narine goes at 5.5 an over in his 4 overs is easily the best batsman in the match.

Man of the match goes to Harry Gurney for his 4-0-25-2. I mean the cutters were pretty sick and he was on debut but come on.

This is the thing that I was trying to work out. Smith scored more runs faster than anyone else on his side. He scored over half the runs in under half the balls.

But was it a good knock in the circumstances or not? His teammates were truly abominable by comparison.
