Australian Domestic Season 2018/19

I think the best 3 bowlers are Cummins, Pattinson and J. Richardson, but having a left armer is attractive and if Starc bowls somewhere near his best he provides variety at a good quality. The 5 bowler between Hazlewood or Bird.

The world’s a better place when Pattinson is fit and firing. Hoping he gets an extended run this time because the man is gold.

Can Marcus Harris make it 4 tons in 3 Shield finals?
Hope so. Would be a hell of a feather in one’s cap in anyone’s language.

Good to see Siddle and Patto get stints at Essex and Notts respectively.

Will be a good test to see how they’re holding up before the Ashes.

Yeah had Patto not dominated the last three rounds I'd have probably picked Siddle as the 5th quick.

It'd be tempting to drop Hazlewood for the Ashes but I don't think the selectors have the balls for it. Hell I'm not even sure if I have the balls for it.
Hazlewood's bowling is tailor made for English conditions.

I think Hazlewood, Starc and Cummins will start with Pattinson and either Richardson or Siddle in reserve.

Big issue for Australia is that Starc & Haze have stagnated

Cummins was our best bowler upon his return in spite of being a relative novice

Patto is better than them both right now

It's literally stubborness and the fact they're so experienced saving them. We shouldn't treat Starc like he's some undroppable Lillee/Mcgrath type but he's been manufactured into that a bit I think. Super prominent in ad campaigns

The father of a kid in Social Jnr’s team is allegedly connected to CA

Guy is a complete **** but everything checks out

Tells me that Starc & his wife are regarded as their most valuable commodity bar Cummins

Tbf Healy is really good. Behind Perry as the face of women's cricket in Australia but she's second in line.

Someone mentioned that Starc is especially important for Lyon because he creates the ruff for him as a left armer

Well that's a pretty weak reason to keep a bowler in the team. Pattinson is just better and hopefully Langer sees the light

They actually have a good history of picking Pattinson when he's fit. It's just such a rare occurrence. Could go down as our Shane Bond

Paine is going on the A Tour as captain.
It is has been also mentioned that Harris, Head and Patterson are going to be in the A squad.
The A-squad will also have those who miss out on the WC cup squad because they want players in England to back up the WC squad in case of injury.
There is not going to be many spots for young players on the A tour, it looks like it might be almost the Ashes squad minus those going to World Cup plus those who just miss out on the World Cup squad.

So possibly

Wk: Paine, Wade
Batsmen : Harris, Head, Patterson, Burns, Pucovski + 2 batsmen Warner and Smith replace in WC squad
Spinner: Holland or maybe O'Keefe
Quicks: Pattinson, Bird, Tremain, + maybe 2 bowlers who do not make the WC squad depending a bit on Hazlewood and J. Richardson's injuries.
I know the NSP has a record of picking incumbent test players in the A squad, but I think picking Paine in this would be a bit much.

Wade a isn't test class keeper and replacing Paine with Carey is essentially pointless since you'd be replacing one limited batsman but clean keeper with another less-experienced one.
