and without 5 or 6 first-choice players too. Be interesting to see what they do when everyone is available.Congrats Australia, back in form now. Wouldn't have felt right going into a World Cup with the Aussies playing like minnows.
with a moderate upgrade on height, pace and bounce along the way.I see Maxwell has copied Kedar Jadhav's action
I didn't mean it in that context, as in "ooh they won even though they aren't full strength they must be way better than Pakistan". More so "there is going to be some tough decisions because someone is going to have be left out despite proving that they are easily good enough".To be fair Pakistan have half the first choice squad rested too.
Handscomb value will be as keeper. It would be criminal for Carey to hold up a spot with his sub-mediocrity with so much batting talent available. It has to be either Handscomb or Wade keeping at this stage.Maxwell’s been looking the goods. Stoinis ****ed up in India but has some runs behind him. Turner has just the one innings, but what an innings it was. Tough but I think Maxwell should still play.
With Smith coming back and Smarsh/Uzi being cake type batsmen idk how valuable Handscomb will be.
Handscomb would be a good backup IMO. If anything it's Smith who has to prove himself - even accounting for the ban, it's been quite a long time since he did anything of note in this format.Maxwell’s been looking the goods. Agree in principle but a 15 man squad isn't all that big, what happens if your keeper strains a hammy or something and has to miss a game but you can't fly a replacement in and it's not severe enough to send him home? That's where the part-time keeper comes into play.I despise the entire concept of part time wicketkeepers tbh, if Handscomb is selected it absolutely should be as a specialist batsman. His ODI performances have been more than handy as of recently, he would definitely be in my 15 man squad for the World Cup if he can maintain this form. I have been fairly critical of Handscomb at times, but he has definitely been fairly impressive

All well and good to say things like "Handscomb should be a backup batsman" and "don't want a part-time keeper", but realistically the question is whether or not the team is better with Handscomb or Carey in it as keeper (if Wade is not an option). IMO Handscomb as keeper is comfortably the superior option overall.I despise the entire concept of part time wicketkeepers tbh, if Handscomb is selected it absolutely should be as a specialist batsman. Obviously in that case he would take the gloves, my point is I would not even remotely consider it as a first choice.Agree in principle but a 15 man squad isn't all that big, what happens if your keeper strains a hammy or something and has to miss a game but you can't fly a replacement in and it's not severe enough to send him home? Strongly disagreeIMO Handscomb as keeper is comfortably the superior option overall.
Yeah...questionsWade should absolutely be in the WC squad and if we don't win there should be questions asked of the selectors. Carey isn't good enough.
Carey a friend of yours?Obviously in that case he would take the gloves, my point is I would not even remotely consider it as a first choice.
Strongly disagree
