*Official* Bangladesh Tour of New Zealand 2019

I’ll be going to Hagley Oval on Saturday and/or Sunday. In New Zealand for the next 10 days. Anyone else going? Should I take a jumper at this late stage of the summer?

Yes to a jumper, NZ weather this time of year is pretty unpredictable - Wellington had a high of 15 on Saturday. Christchurch is a high of 29/30 today and tomorrow but drops ten degrees the day after.

So the updated Reliance ratings are out following the finish of th 2nd test. Scoring 74 in a match where the opposition were bowled out for less than 230 in both innings was apparently enough for Kane Williamson’s rating to drop by 2 (from 915 to 913). Which is a pretty damning indictment of the quality of the Bangladesh attack. Meanwhile Wags is up to 5th in the world and passes 800 rating points for the first time. Happy birthday Wags!

Probably also dropped because of Ross scoring 200 and Henry getting a ton as well. 74 was a comparative failure.

Should BD call in sick for the third test?

It's one of the most one sided series in recorded history.

Minus the Sarkar and the Riyad centuries.

I suspect that once you're in the 900s, that your score degrades at anything other than tough opposition 50s or big hundreds.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing

they've shown glimpses of decent fight. A lot of them are inexperienced too in NZ conditions so even if they get hammered it's still good to learn different conditions. The bowlers impressed at the start of the innings and it could've looked a little different had they held the catches for Ross.

Obviously hurting without 2 of their best players though.

Forecast for Day 1 not so good, but should definitely get a good amount of cricket in. Be interesting to see how Will Young looks if he gets a go. Wonder if there’s a chance BJ will play as a batsman if his hammy isn’t up to keeping?

I almost feel like it doesn’t matter too much who plays, we’d have to play really really badly for 4 days to lose to Bangladesh in these conditions.

They probably can’t wait to get out of here either. Some good performances from them, but just not the depth or consistency in either the batting or bowling to test NZ.

Heard Wagner say as well that one of his big aims is to help win games for his country and get us to the final of the test championship at Lords. Good to hear that. Would be by the TV for the full duration for that game. Holy moly.

Having not been to a live NZ match since Hamilton 2004, I’m very keen to see Trent and Ross in action for the first time. Hopefully we bowl first and I can see both over the course of the weekend.

Any viewing spot recommendations?

Also, I want to bring two bottles of Japanese beer for my mate on a domestic flight from Auckland. Are there any restrictions?

Geez I’d be flying over, no matter the cost!

I think we’re as good a chance as anyone, as well ... looked like quite a favorable draw for us last time I looked.

Yeah, I’m only going down there with hand luggage. So no go in regards the beer?

Or I could just pay extra and check in the luggage I suppose.
Flights between Auck, Well, Chch - they scan your hand luggage.

I'm not sure anymore of the current process on liquids, it is more relaxed than it was, but 2 bottles of liquid might be over the limit?
I don't fly regularly enough to give you a a good answer.

No restrictions on liquids on domestic flights, friends have taken bottles of hard liquor on flights and it's fine

Liquid restrictions are on international flights
