It doesn't apply anymore at all. Was fine when teams used to get to 100 in 30th overThis rule does not apply for huge run chases though.
Yes, that kind of innings planning became obsolete 20 years back. Modern teams have to be very close to the required run rate to make a match of it.It doesn't apply anymore at all. Was fine when teams used to get to 100 in 30th over
Don't remember that era when only 100 scored in 30 overs...4-5 an over was always the minimum target in the early daysIt doesn't apply anymore at all. Was fine when teams used to get to 100 in 30th over
So you know you're going to be proved wrong when Australia win rightThis rule does not apply for huge run chases though.
In the 80s they used to reach 100 in 30-35 overs, after which it was a scamper to cross 200. Things improved in early 90s but still it was a rarity to score 4 runs an over in the first 30 overs.Don't remember that era when only 100 scored in 30 overs...4-5 an over was always the minimum target in the early days
I am not discounting an Aussie win If they win, they would have played really well even after being well behind the ideal score after 30 overs. So you know you're going to be proved wrong when Australia win right
Although 177 of 30 doubled means 5 runs short
