A line I always like is "if Celtic had Premier League money, they'd be massive", ignoring that many other Scottish clubs could say "if we had Celtic's money..."
Nah this is a stupid line of argument. Other Scottish clubs don't have Celtic's money because they don't have the fanbase which generates the turnover.

Rangers and Celtic in the Premier League would be top 6 material easily in terms of potential.

Leicester’s a much better job. Lots of potential in that squad and a good recruitment staff to work with.

Celtic were a smart career move but at this point they have no upside.
Funnily enough Celtic's lack of upside has a lot to with Rodgers and how badly he's recruited in the 3 years he's been at Celtic.

The fact that he was in charge of recruitment suggests the lack of upside has more to do with the club being poorly run.

He wasn't in charge of recruitment. The head of recruitment was Lee Congerton - who was a Rodgers pick - but Congerton was famously a disaster at Sunderland and Hamburg.

Letting him pick a head of recruitment is even worse than letting him pick players.

I don't mean to absolve him of all blame, but he's a coach, tactician, and motivator, recruitment was never his strength. With his opinion of himself I don't doubt that he thought he could run the whole club, but any semi-competent board wouldn't have allowed it.

Not a term that is often associated with Scottish football tbf.

There's been at least 2 players signed by Celtic this season that Rodgers has had nothing to do with.

I say at least 2 because Rodgers made it public knowledge that Arzani and the Ukranian winger signed in January weren't his players. I suspect the striker they signed in January that hasn't featured also wasn't a Rodgers pick.

Got a great quiz question yesterday if anyone feels like wasting time at work.

Name the 10 cities that have had at least two different teams in CL/European Cup semi-finals.

Throw in Lisbon, Glasgow (rangers did a semi in the early 90s didn't they? Turin possibly (Torino had a belting side once)

I think 'a' Birmingham team made the semi's of the UEFA cup (might've been a combined team rather than Birmingham City, they did stuff like that back in the day) but not the Euro

Without checking I would be surprised if Torino have made a semi-final as they've only won the Italian league once since their plane crash, and they've not been in it since it became the Champions League.
