A “truely home grown side”? You can’t be talking about CD there mate? Foxcroft, Patel, Bracewell, Tickner and Noema-Barnett are not home grown talents.
you're gonna have to point out all the games those guys played for other provinces. i'll even give you age group stuff (so you get foxcroft).

then i'll provide a list of the nd imports
Anyway congrats to CD, too good on the day. I don’t know why we played on that dogshit wicket, it just brought the two teams closer together. ND would’ve thumped them on a flat wicket.
nd couldn't beat zimbabwe away from a dirty slow low one where devcich, santner and sodhi could trundle in all day

Howsie

Cricketer Of The Year
Ajaz Patel - Auckland, played cricket up there for years

Kieran Noema-Barnett - Otago born and bred, debuted for them too

Dean Foxcroft - South African

Doug Bracewell - Bay of Plenty age group rep

Blair Tickner - Born in New Zealand, moved to the Gold Coast as a 12 year old, moved back in his early 20’s for a crack at professional cricket.

That’s almost half the team right there, so don’t give me this home grown blah blah.

5 players, with mostly loose links elsewhere? desperation at it's finest. everyone except for knb in your list debuted for cd too, and im fairly certain doug bracewell played for cd under 19s

bj watling - south african until his late teens

corey anderson - cantabrian, debuted there, developed there

dean brownlie - australian until his 20s, moved to canterbury

neil wagner - see above but the south african to otago route

ish sodhi - aucklander until his 20s

colin de grandhomme - aucklander until this season

these are just the easy ones because im too lazy to delve deeper into the origins of the nd squad.

BJ Watling moved to NZ when he was 10, and attended Hamilton Boys' High.

Who cares, anyway? Try having this debate when you support Welly.

Have always liked CD, so am pleased for them. Good work.

Great to see Nelson win the Hawke Cup after 22 years, looks like we have a few good young players.

Wellington is 100% homegrown talent because Wellington is a melting pot city. Who the **** wants to live in Hamilton?

I had a flat mate who moved to Hamilton about a year ago. True story, literally a couple of hours after she arrived at the airport, she called me in tears begging me for her old room back because Hamilton was just too terrible.

This is one of the harsh realities of NZ, everyday people get tricked into moving into Hamilton.

I assumed Allen would be playing for Auckland seeing as he isn't playing the 2-dayer v Bangladesh.
